About us.

We want to see God glorified in the lives of His people.

From all walks of life, we come together to follow Jesus. We believe that walking in faith is best done together. We laugh together, cry together, pray together, love God together, love others together. As we worship and fellowship and serve together, we grow closer to God and to one another. We are a family of believers, and we seek to bring glory to God in all we do.

But it's not all about us. It's about you, too. We have a place just for you, a place where you too can grow in your walk with the Lord. You don't have to follow Jesus all by yourself. Together we can be a part of something bigger than all of us. We can be the family of God.

OUR VISION

We strive to be the church that Jesus desires us to be. As a gathering of believers in Jesus Christ, we are called to grow to be like Jesus, follow his teaching, and bring others into the family of God. Seeking to grow and serve together in answer to the call of Jesus, we believe he will lead us to be a church that is fulfilling its purpose day by day.

OUR MISSION

Our mission as Heights Baptist Church is to show the love of God in and to our community so that we might spread the good news of Jesus Christ to those around us. We pray for our community, street by street and home by home. We seek to meet the needs of those in our community. We invest ourselves into our community, all to show God's love to others.

OUR VALUES

We value Scripture as the sole authority for faith and life, and the Gospel of Jesus Christ as the source of a fulfilled and eternal life. We hold dear the joy of worship, where we assemble to exalt the Lord. We treasure Christian fellowship in living our faith together and serving the Lord together. And, we seek Jesus as the center of the family.

God

We believe there is only one true God, the creator of all, eternally existing in three persons (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit).

The Bible

We believe the Bible is the perfect written record of God’s revelation of Himself to man.

Man

We believe man is the special creation of God, made in his own image to glorify God.

Sin

We believe man freely chose to sin against God rather than to glorify God, subjecting himself to God’s judgment.

Jesus Christ

We believe Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, our Lord and Savior, died on a cross and was resurrected for the salvation of man from the judgment of God.

Salvation

We believe salvation from God’s judgment is a free gift of grace, offered by God to all who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

Meet our team.

Tim Gruver

PASTOR

Tim has served as Pastor of Heights Baptist Church since 2004. With a focus on the truth of the Word and the glory of God, he has seen the Lord transform the family of Heights into a beautiful fellowship of believers. He has a passion to see the love of God spread throughout Liberty and touch the lives of its people. Tim and his wife Dee Ann have three grown children, Austin, Kirbie, and Micah.

Gary Downey

WORSHIP & MUSIC MINISTER

Gary came to Heights Baptist Church in 2007. He develops a worship service that blends the old and the new, the traditional and the contemporary, all in the praise of God. He believes that worship is a sacred privilege and joy that gives meaning and significance to life as we look beyond ourselves to focus on and adore the Lord our God. Gary and his wife Lynn love to travel and have three grown children.
